The Click Click essays
The event that changed my life. In the late 90s, I’d been bouncing around Asia as a jobbing copywriter for several years when it became clear advertising agencies weren’t moving with the times fast enough. Putting my frustrations into a PDF emailed to six friends – “Click Click, You’re Dead”, below – I woke up discovering it’d been forwarded to over a thousand people including WPP head honch Martin Sorrell. Eventual readership exceeeded 300,000, winning me awards and job offers in New York, London, and Paris. Here are the original PDFs, as sent.
