Google type specimen for Roboto Flex
The Big G’s Roboto font is a part of the web, seen by billions of people each day. Roboto Flex takes it further: a “variable” font able to resize and reshape itself on a number of conceptual axes designed by its creator. Such “parametric fonts” are a different approach to traditional typography, and this 100-page type specimen, written in London and the East Coast Googleplex in New York, explained how it works. I created the book’s organising principle and wrote all copy.
